Capital Development


After years of effort, dreams and plans took shape. The Four Seasons YMCA facility was completed. We opened our doors and began serving our community in June of 2009. Even though the building is now complete, capital development is an on-going process for our Y. This area of our budget includes debt reduction for the original project, continued payments on our leased equipment, and new equipment purchases.


An amazing amount of volunteer hours, in-kind donations including our land, and funds were given by our community for the original capital project. This project encompassed not only the tangible “brick and mortar” expenditures and exercise equipment, but also other project costs such as consulting expenses, auditing fees, fundraising costs, interest expenses, etc. The undertaking was truly enormous, with the cost of the land, building and original equipment alone totaling over 8.3 mil.


We are excited about the possibility of purchasing additional equipment to meet new needs and replace worn-out items. Here are some items we have identified as needs and hope to purchase this year. We will evaluate these purchases based on the amount of funds raised and changing organizational needs.
