MAKING A DIFFERENCE

After years of effort, the dreams and plans took shape, and the Four Seasons YMCA facility was completed. We opened our doors and began serving our community in June of 2009. Even though the building is now complete, Capital Development is an on-going process for our Y. This area of our budget includes debt reduction for the original project, continued payments on our leased equipment, and new equipment purchases.

ORIGINAL CAPITAL PROJECT

An amazing amount of volunteer hours, in-kind donations (including our land) and funds were given by our community for the original capital project. This encompassed not only the tangible “brick and mortar” expenditures and exercise equipment, but also other project costs such as consulting expenses, auditing fees, fundraising costs, interest expenses, etc. The undertaking was truly enormous, with the cost of the land, building and original equipment alone totaling over 8.3 million dollars.

NEW EQUIPMENT
In order to stay competitve and current, we need to purchase additional equipment to meet our needs as well as replace worn-out items. We evaluate these purchases based on the amount of funds raised and our changing organizational needs.
